My Story
Calis was born from lived experience, not theory.
I was first introduced to Usui Reiki Ryoho in 2003 when I completed my Level 1 attunement and training. At the time, it was something meaningful but life, responsibility and a career in the corporate world slowly took priority. Years later, after prolonged stress and burnout, I found myself searching for a way to calm my nervous system and function better in everyday life.
Like many people, stress showed up everywhere - anxiety, exhaustion, brain fog, irritability at home, and an inability to switch off at the end of the day. What changed things wasn't a single moment, but the gradual research and integration of somatic tools and nervous-system based practices into my daily life. The shift was subtle at first. I only truly noticed it when I stopped and realised how much calmer, more regulated, and more present I had become.
Returning to Reiki and completing my Level 2 training added another layer. Not a dramatic or mystical way, but a grounded one. I became more aware. Less reactive. More compassionate. More able to move through my day without feeling constantly depleted.
As my understanding of the nervous system deepened, I was drawn to Ear Reflexology. It aligned naturally with the work I was already doing. Where Reiki creates space and stillness, ear reflexology offers subtle stimulation of specific pressure points - a reminder to the body that it is safe to settle.
Calis is not about fixing the body. I believe the body already knows how to regulate itself - it sometimes just needs a gentle nudge to slow down and return to balance. Reiki and Ear Reflexology are not a promise of miracles. They are a restorative practice that supports the nervous system by creating the conditions for rest and recalibration.
People often leave sessions feeling calmer and lighter - better able to meet the demands of a busy, full life without running on empty.
